Joyful Confidence-Building Math
Whether your student is struggling and needing more support, gifted and needing more challenge or proficient and needing more engagement, Trapezium Math offers a common core aligned curriculum designed to support your child in developing confidence on their math learning journey!
Trapezium Math Club:
- Provides math enrichment for students at their “just right math level” by differentiating learning with small group instruction.
- Facilitates developmentally appropriate games, challenges and hands-on activities, to cultivate a positive association with math and encourage children to develop self confidence.
- Rejects the worksheet/computer- driven classroom and encourages active student engagement.
Our Curriculum at a Glance
Our curriculum understands the different parts that make up a whole math learner. By using our proprietary framework C.R.A.F.T. ™ , we can see each math learner as an individual and meet their specific needs.
Counting
Counting by different intervals forwards and backwards and counting by mixed numbers lays the foundation for mental math fluency with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Reasoning
Developing problem solving skills is essential to being a strong math learner. In Math Club students use the critical thinking necessary to pull pertinent information, solve equations, and consider how answers make sense in the context of a problem and the real world.
Automaticity Trapezium has developed incremental activities beginning in kindergarten that support full automaticity in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts by the end of 3rd grade.
Fluency
We support students in developing a mental map of numbers so that they can understand, relate, and connect numbers. Additionally we support students in transferring what they know about numbers to time, money and measurement.
Tenacity
Cultivating tenacity is essential to supporting a strong and confident math learner. Through different games and challenges we support students in developing the ability to approach hard math with a willingness to fail and keep trying. We want students to know they are capable of doing hard math!
Math Club Subscriptions:
Sign up for a yearly subscription of 24, 30 or 36 weeks of highly engaging, hands-on, math enrichment. You choose a subscription package, day and time for clubs and your student will be enrolled in a math club at their just right math level. You will also purchase a math club kit that your student will use for the duration of their time with Trapezium.
How the Subscription Model Works:
- You choose a subscription package of 24, 30 or 36 weeks. You will have the option to pay in total up front or choose the monthly subscription model.
- You choose day and time. We will automatically register you for the day and time you have chosen for all of the sessions you have selected unless you want to change the day and time throughout the year. We will place your child in a club that is the best fit for them based on whether they are struggling, proficient or advanced in math.
- Purchase your Math Club Kit. You will purchase your math club kit which students can use for the entirety of their time with Trapezium. This is a one time purchase for new students only.
- Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your Math Club subscription at any time and you will only be charged for the clubs your child attended.
